On finishing high school, myself and a few friends have decided to travel the west coast of the U.S. However American trains are substandard and overpriced for the lousy service so it's by Greyhound coach and with team arthritis!
Or we spend the summer at home and earn the money to put together and buy a campervan. This seems wiser and we decide to leave in September and escape the Canadian winter.
The new year brings indecision. Some of our group want to stay in California until the end of winter and the minority have priorities back up up north.
The rest of us decide to regain lost time in San Francisco and the photographer amongst us wants to take time to experience rural California and the wild coast. A great idea which leads takes us to see Yosemite in the spring.
By now our tag along has become a friend. Travelling together builds trust. We discuss recent political history and I take an interest in the role of journalism within politics and revolution.
